Con el 911 Carrera T, Porsche dice que regresa al concepto «purista» del 911 T de 1968: menos peso, cambio manual con relaciones más cortas y tracción trasera con diferencial autoblocante. La T significa Touring. Solo tiene dos plazas. Se podia pedir con transmisión automática PDK y cuatro plazas.
Exteriormente se distingue por tener un faldón negro específico en el paragolpes delantero, los retrovisores pintados en gris Agata metalizado, las llantas de 20 pulgadas del Carrera S en color gris Titanio, una parrilla aleteada en el capó posterior, el escape deportivo con las salidas en color negro y los anagramas distintivos de la versión a ambos lados y en la parte trasera del coche.

 With the 911 Carrera T, Porsche says it is returning to the "purist" concept of the 1968 911 T: less weight, manual gearbox with shorter ratios, and rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential. The T stands for Touring. It only has two seats. It could be ordered with a PDK automatic transmission and four seats. 
Externally, it is distinguished by having a specific black skirt on the front bumper, the mirrors painted in metallic Agate grey, the 20-inch Carrera S wheels in Titanium grey, a finned grille on the rear hood, the sports exhaust with outlets in black colour and the distinctive anagrams of the version on both sides and on the rear of the car.
