Fahrzeugbeschreibung
True 2 owner 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Sprint GT powered by the 1.6L 4 cylinder twin cam producing 106 bhp.
Few cars can match the Alfa 1600 for sheer driving pleasure and it will amply reward the driver who gives it his undivided attention' Car & Driver
Unveiled in 1963, the Giulia Sprint GT featured an attractive four-seat body designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, although the car was not built at Bertone, but at the new Alfa Romeo factory in Arese. Under the sheet metal of the new coupé were the five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, rigid coil-sprung rear axle and - except on the very first ones - the four-wheel discs that had recently been introduced on the 105-series Giulia TI saloon. The Sprint GT delivered 106 bhp (compared to just 92 for the TI, thanks to twin Weber carburettors), enough power to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. Modified intake ducts characterised the more powerful engine of the 109bhp GTV (V for Veloce) Sprint, introduced in 1965. Designed for the driver's pleasure, the Sprint range was a huge success for Alfa Romeo, with production lasting fourteen years until 1977.
This Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Sprint GT is a 2 owner car since new. She was purchased at Alfa Romeo in Paris on the 15th of February 1966. We know this as the original invoice is still present with the car! That is something that you rarely come across. She was later purchased by her second owner back in Paris who has had her up until now.
She is finished in this lovely shade of silver paint with the classic yellow headlights. She presents well but her body is showing signs with some bubbles around the arches. Her interior is in beautiful and original condition, finished in red leather. Mechanically she is a running and driving car but could use some basic love to turn her into a classic to drive around the continent.
She comes with her original service book, invoice, delivery ticket, user manual, etc. She is a true time capsule that has a great look and feel to her.
This is teh perfect alfa for someone to bring to the next level. The rare 1600 Giulia sprint with a fantastic history file.
